2nd Annual Yohr Tzeit Dinner

The Siyum for the second Yohr Tzeit of HaRav Grumer, zt”l, will, iy”H, take place on Monday evening, May 9, at 6:15 p.m. in the downstairs Beis Medrash of the Shul. Both Men and women are invited.

There is a nominal charge of $36.00/person to cover the actual cost of each dinner. Please fill out the form below and indicate if you are reserving just for yourself or your spouse as well. 

You can make an online payment on our secure online payment portal, or you can cut a check, made out to the Shul, which can be dropped off in the Shul mailbox or brought to the Siyum.

Rosh Hashannah, Parshas Ha'azinu

This week Mincha/Maariv is at 6:55 p.m.

Reminder: The Rov’s medical restrictions still require that he not shake hands, and continues to practice social distancing. If you are having guests for Yom Tov please make them aware of these precautions.

·       Tomorrow,  Wednesday, Erev Rosh Hashana, there will be three Minyanim for Selichos/Shacharis. Selichos at the 5:30 a.m. Minyan (downstairs) will be Nusach Sefard. Selichos at both the 6:10 a.m. (upstairs) and 8:00 a.m. (downstairs) Minyanim will be Nusach Ashkenaz and follow the Yeshiva format. Nusach Sefard to Nusach Ashkenaz conversion charts will be available.

·       If you plan on purchasing an Aliyah over the Yomim Noroim, for yourself or for someone else, please be sure that the Aliya card has all the names you would like to mention in the Mi Shebeirach. Please speak to Meir Rosner if you are unsure whether your card needs to be updated. If we have an Aliyah Card for your family, all the names will be read, and if applicable, the person who bought the Aliyah for you will also be mentioned. If there is no card, only your name and your wife’s name will be mentioned, and if applicable, the person who bought the Aliyah for you.

· Reminder to make an Erev Tavshilin tomorrow.

·  For the Mi Shebeirach L’cholim, please prepare a paper with the names and you can then come up to the Bima and hand it to the Gabbai. Otherwise, please say the names at your seat.

·       On Shabbos, Parshas Ha’azinu, Shabbos Shuva, we will be selling Aliyas. If you have a Chiyuv Aliya, please let Meir Rosner know in advance.

Rabbi Yitzchok Margareten, Shlita

Rabbi Yitzchok Margareten, is our cherished and revered Mara Di’Asra at Shomre Shabbos. Rabbi Margareten originally took on the role of Menahel Ruchoni in 1992, leading the shabbos hashkama minyan. In June of 2020, Rabbi Margareten was officially installed as Rov of the kehilla.

Rabbi Margareten, a Baltimore native, attended Ner Israel Rabbinical College and studied under many torah giants and personalities such as Reb Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman and his rebbe Reb Yaakov Weinberg. In 1984, after 8 years of Kollel in Ner Israel, Rabbi Margareten moved to Cleveland Heights to take on the 8th grade rebbi position at Mosdos Ohr Hatorah. Rabbi Margareten now currently serves as the Menahel of Yeshiva Derech Hatorah here in Cleveland.

Rabbi Marageten has inspired the Cleveland Heights and surrounding communities to a new level of Torah appreciation through his various classes, shiurim and lectures, including his 4th cycle of Daf Yomi shiurim.
